Leopardstown Inn – Dublin, Ireland
Brief: Change the existing, hunting lodge-themed pub to an eclectic, contemporary, art deco feature pub restaurant
Project Size: 400sqm approx / 200 patron capacity
Concept: To develop a completely new era in high-end dining and evening entertainment.
Application: The building was extended to include a restaurant and function room. From the off set it was clear that this was to be a suburban restaurant and bar with a difference, quirky, modern, eccentric, with several exciting themes.
One of the strongest themes was ‘Carnival’.
To achieve this ambience and illusion we designed and built a rotating circular bar dressed with an ornate carousel hood set in the centre of a double height room surronded by playful graphics and a ceiling height organ. The main bar area is a symphony of modern and classical features and lighting based on classical themes. Gold leaf mouldings stand opposite a brushded steel art-deco bar counter. Modern light fixtures arch across the ceiling vaults defining the monochromatic ‘Blue-Room’ in its shades of blue which allows guest to chill out while observing the hive of activity of the main bar and carnival room.
The project opened October 2007.
