McNally Design International has created Bowling Alley venues in Essen, Germany, Cyprus and Dublin, Ireland where it designed the highly profitable Leisureplex entertainment complex and The Tallaght Sports Bowl.

At bowling's pinnacle in 1963, there were nearly 11,000 USBC certified alleys in the USA. Today there are about 5,600. However, there is a new approach to re-creating bowling alleys as food and entertainment venues.

Four years ago Strike Holdings in the USA poured about $10 million into the former 56 lane Sterling Lanes in New Hyde Park. Twenty lanes were cut to make room for a 700-foot go-kart track and restaurant that in addition to upscale bar food. Since the changes, sales at the New Hyde Park facility - including bowling, which ranges from $5.95 to $6.45 a game - have increased double digits annually, without leagues.
